Sustainability

Milan

“ … is the right destination to organize successful events that are also sustainable. In recent years, in fact, the city has undergone a major process of urban renewal: its growth as a large metropolitan area has been accompanied by an ever-greater commitment to environmental and social sustainability.

An enlightened food policy combating food waste, anti-smog climate policiesa campaign to plant 3 million treestactical urban planning to encourage green mobility are just some of the examples. The tourism and events community is fully involved in this double challenge”.

It is to strengthen this commitment that in 2022 the city joined, the first and only destination in Italy, the Global Destination Sustainability Index  , which compares over 90 tourist destinations in the world and focuses on the MICE segment. Milano was ranked among the Top 30 destinations in the field of environmental sustainability and was listed in the 4th place among European large cities.
