Call for Workshop Proposals

Submission Deadline
April 29, 2024

Acceptance Notification
Mid-July

Submission is made through PaperPlaza.

We are soliciting proposals for workshops to be held together with the CDC 2024. The workshops will take place on December 15 (Sunday), 2024 at the same venue as the main conference. The purpose of the workshops is to provide a comprehensive forum on topics that will not be fully explored during the main conference and to encourage in-depth discussion of technical, application, and community issues.

Due to space and time limitations, as well as to encourage diversity of topic coverage, we will only be able to retain a limited number of proposals. Therefore, we encourage the workshop organizers to submit proposals that are specific and detailed in justifying relevance, viability and uniqueness. Workshops that are substantially similar to each other in content may be asked to merge, and the CDC OpCom reserves the right to accept/reject the workshop proposals, and to cancel nonviable workshops after registration.

In addition, we strongly encourage and will give special consideration during the review process to workshops aiming to create a forum where we broadly reach out to elicit the best scholarship, innovation, and breadth of ideas that our community has to offer. Therefore, workshop proposals should include a statement explaining the diversity of the session along dimensions such as gender, geography, industry/academia affiliation and/or other forms of diversity.

A successful proposal should include:

  1. Title of the workshop
  2. Objectives and expected outcomes
  3. List of organizers along with their short bio and contact details
  4. List of speakers along with their short bio
  5. Time schedule with (tentative) titles of the presentations (also with indication whether the workshop is full day or half-day)
  6. Statement explaining the diversity of the session in terms of gender, geography, industry/academia affiliation and/or other forms of diversity

The workshops will be in-person only, and no online connection is used during the workshops.

Questions can be directed to the workshop chair, Hyungbo Shim (hshim@snu.ac.kr)
